UNITÉ 2: LA MUSIQUE FRANCOPHONE
During this unit, students will be looking at a range of samples of French music from across the French-speaking world. Through studying the lyrics and intended messages of a range of songs, students will aim to broaden their vocabulary and understanding of different verb tenses in French. The grammatical focus of this unit is to consolidate students' understanding of the présent, futur proche and passé composé while looking at the futur simple and the imparfait verb tenses in detail for the first time this year. Below are a sample of some of the songs and artists we will be covering in class. PIERRE BILLON - LA Bamba Triste
Songs do not come too much more left of centre than this one. Pierre Billon grew up surrounded by great French musicians, namely Georges Brassens and Michel Sardou.
This song is about a break-up and references the great Mexican hit 'La Bamba' - if you don't understand the lyrics, don't worry, many French speakers don't either, but the clip is one of a kind. |
